OROQUIETA CITY, Misamis Occidental — Defense Secretary Gilberto C. Teodoro Jr. called on Misamisnons to take an active role in sustaining the province’s development, emphasizing that progress requires collective effort and shared responsibility.
Teodoro delivered the message during the 4th Araw ng Parangal: Search for Outstanding Misamisnon on Wednesday, November 4, at the Oroquieta City Bayfront Arena.
The event, held under the leadership of Governor Henry S. Oaminal, recognized exemplary Misamisnons whose achievements, leadership, and public service have brought honor and distinction to the province.
Teodoro emphasized that “asenso” is a continuing endeavor that depends not only on government initiatives but also on the cooperation and active participation of every citizen.
Congratulating the awardees, the Defense chief urged them to continue serving as role models and inspiring fellow Misamisnons to contribute to the province’s growth.
He also underscored the importance of sustained development, peace, and security in building a more progressive Misamis Occidental.
Under Oaminal’s leadership, the province continues to pursue its development agenda anchored on the vision of making Misamisnons live peacefully, prosperously, and happily.
The recognition formed part of Misamis Occidental’s 97th founding anniversary, celebrating individuals whose contributions reflect the spirit of service and commitment to community development.
Teodoro’s message underscored that the province’s pursuit of progress goes beyond honoring individual achievements—it calls for government and citizens to work together toward a peaceful and prosperous future.
